In this video, meet Sam and learn more about her training.
Sam loves words, food, travel and teaching. Luckily, her work allows her to spend time doing all of the above.
She has worked as an editor and writer for more than 30 years.
Sam has written about food and travel for publications like Qantas inflight magazine and Gourmet Traveller.
She also has dozens of corporate, government and private sector clients who keep coming back for her sure touch as an editor.
In 2004, Sam created her Clear Writing training courses.
Since then, she’s helped thousands of people to improve their workplace writing skills.
Face-to-face training
Sam is also available to deliver her training in person anywhere in Australia, or elsewhere by negotiation.
Most of Sam’s face-to-face training is designed for groups of up to 10 people and is delivered in your workplace.
The training gives people at all levels the skills to plan, write and edit workplace documents of all kinds. This could include reports, emails, strategies, policies, memos and letters.
Sam also offers customised one-on-one coaching.
Her coaching has helped dozens of people to gain confidence, end procrastination, reduce passive voice, improve their editing and understand the ‘nuts and bolts’, like apostrophes and semi-colons. Sam accepts a maximum of two coaching clients at any time.
Fast and practical training
Sam’s Better Business Writing course takes 5 to 8 hours in total. Her courses are highly practical, focused on things like how to get started, how to plan content, how to structure documents and how to minimise errors.
Decades of experience
Sam has made a living from writing, editing and teaching people about professional writing for over 30 years. A former journalist and ministerial communications adviser, she has worked with all levels of government, private sector and non-profit organisations, and publications like Gourmet Traveller and Qantas magazines.
